French Speech and TTS Audio Engineer

Prepare and quality-check French voice recordings that support speech AI and text-to-speech training. This remote, hourly role combines detailed audio restoration with native-level French listening judgment to ensure large audio datasets are clear, natural, consistent, and technically ready for machine learning workflows.

• Edit and process French voice recordings for text-to-speech and speech AI applications.
• Clean audio by trimming silence, reducing or removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and reducing noise.
• Perform detailed quality checks for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and balanced levels.
• Verify that recordings meet strict technical requirements for machine learning training pipelines.
• Assess French pronunciation, fluency, naturalness, and overall speech quality.
• Process high volumes of recordings while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and throughput.
• Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice-talent recordings, and model-training workflows.

• Native or near-native French fluency, with strong intuition for French speech nuances and the ability to evaluate pronunciation and naturalness accurately.
• Experience editing speech or voice recordings, beyond music-production work alone.
• Strong understanding of speech-audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues.
• Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or comparable audio-restoration software.
• Ability to identify and correct audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.
• Experience working with high-volume audio datasets or structured production workflows.
• Strong critical-listening skills, attention to detail, and comfort with repetitive, high-precision work at scale.
• Ability to balance production speed with quality and familiarity with the differences between human French speech and synthetic-voice requirements.

• Experience with text-to-speech vendors or platforms.
• Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation and annotation workflows.
• Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes.
• Experience directing or editing recordings from French voice talent.
