Prepare and quality-check French-language voice recordings that support speech AI and text-to-speech training. This role combines precise audio restoration with expert French listening skills to ensure large audio datasets are clear, consistent, natural-sounding, and technically ready for machine learning workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Edit and process French voice recordings for text-to-speech and speech AI systems.
- Clean audio by trimming silence, reducing or removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and reducing noise.
- Conduct detailed quality checks for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balance.
- Ensure recordings meet strict technical specifications for machine learning training pipelines.
- Assess French pronunciation, fluency, and naturalness.
- Maintain consistency and throughput while working through large batches of recordings.
- Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice-talent recordings, and model-training workflows.
- Native or near-native French fluency, with strong intuition for French speech nuances and the ability to assess speech quality, pronunciation, and naturalness.
- Experience editing speech or voice recordings, beyond music production alone.
- Strong understanding of speech-audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues.
- Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar audio-restoration software.
- Ability to identify and correct audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.
- Experience with high-volume audio datasets or structured production workflows.
- Experience with TTS vendors or platforms.
- Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation and annotation workflows.
- Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes.
- Experience directing or editing French voice-talent recordings.
- Detail-oriented, with strong critical-listening skills in French.
- Comfortable completing repetitive, high-precision work at scale.
- Able to balance production speed with rigorous quality standards.
- Familiar with the differences between human French speech and synthetic-voice requirements.
- Remote, hourly engagement.
