About this role

Prepare and quality-check French-language voice recordings that support speech AI and text-to-speech training. This role combines precise audio restoration with expert French listening skills to ensure large audio datasets are clear, consistent, natural-sounding, and technically ready for machine learning workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit and process French voice recordings for text-to-speech and speech AI systems.
  • Clean audio by trimming silence, reducing or removing breaths, de-clicking, de-essing, and reducing noise.
  • Conduct detailed quality checks for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balance.
  • Ensure recordings meet strict technical specifications for machine learning training pipelines.
  • Assess French pronunciation, fluency, and naturalness.
  • Maintain consistency and throughput while working through large batches of recordings.
  • Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice-talent recordings, and model-training workflows.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native French fluency, with strong intuition for French speech nuances and the ability to assess speech quality, pronunciation, and naturalness.
  • Experience editing speech or voice recordings, beyond music production alone.
  • Strong understanding of speech-audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues.
  • Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar audio-restoration software.
  • Ability to identify and correct audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects.
  • Experience with high-volume audio datasets or structured production workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with TTS vendors or platforms.
  • Background in speech machine learning, voice AI, or dataset creation and annotation workflows.
  • Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes.
  • Experience directing or editing French voice-talent recordings.
Candidate Profile
  • Detail-oriented, with strong critical-listening skills in French.
  • Comfortable completing repetitive, high-precision work at scale.
  • Able to balance production speed with rigorous quality standards.
  • Familiar with the differences between human French speech and synthetic-voice requirements.
Work Terms
  • Remote, hourly engagement.
Compensation
  • $50 per hour.
