About this role

Well cost analysts apply drilling operations, well-planning, and energy data systems expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and improve its understanding of drilling workflows and energy industry practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create expert-level training data using hands-on knowledge of industry tools and workflows.
  • Review AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance, then provide detailed feedback to support AI research.
  • Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in drilling, completions, or related energy operations.
  • Experience as a Drilling Engineer, Completions Engineer, Well Cost Analyst, Drilling Superintendent, or in an equivalent energy-industry role.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: WellView, SAP, ComboCurve, or AVEVA PI.
  • Strong written communication skills and close attention to detail.
  • No prior AI experience is required.

Work Terms

  • Remote, hourly contract engagement rather than a traditional job.
  • Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Contributors typically work about 5 to 20 hours per week while assigned to an active project.
  • Project placement depends on current needs, with consideration for future projects as they become available.

Compensation

Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
