Theater and Voice Acting Expert for AI Research

Theater and vocal arts experts apply performance and voice acting skills to create, record, and evaluate prompts and spoken outputs for large language models. In this role you will use domain knowledge in acting, vocal technique, and character work to design tasks, produce audio, and judge LLM responses for realism, nuance, and artistic fidelity.

• Develop domain-specific prompts and scenarios tailored to theater and voice performance.
• Record voice samples and performance examples using your own audio setup.
• Evaluate large language model outputs for accuracy, expressive quality, and appropriateness to the task.
• Research topics of interest relevant to your discipline, using AI tools as an aid where helpful.
• Work primarily asynchronously with research teams to iterate on tasks and feedback.
• Contribute to tests designed to probe and extend current model capabilities, often as part of a small, discipline-focused cohort.

• Practical experience in theater and voice acting, any education level welcome.
• Confidence that your domain expertise exceeds current AI performance in interpreting and performing within your field.
• Willingness to learn new skills and apply them to AI research across related disciplines.
• Reliable audio recording hardware and software. A 24 Hz or 48 Hz microphone used in a quiet recording environment is generally sufficient.
• Comfort participating in primarily asynchronous collaboration with research teams.

• Employment type: Part time, remote, asynchronous.
• Flexible hours with no minimum required weekly commitment.
• Work from anywhere with a suitable recording environment and internet access.
• Placement into projects is project-based and depends on current availability in your discipline. The program runs year-round, with project availability varying by discipline.
• Each project typically selects a small cohort of contributors chosen for disciplinary and research expertise.

• Up to $50/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students may be eligible if they qualify for CPT or OPT. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether participation meets your schools requirements.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this project-based work may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported.
