Technical Support Professional for AI Research

Technical Support Experts apply their hands-on technical support experience to evaluate and improve how AI systems perform on real-world support tasks. You will use your practical knowledge of troubleshooting, user support workflows, and technical documentation to develop prompts, assess large language model responses, and help shape AI behavior for support scenarios.

• Develop and refine industry-specific prompts and scenarios for evaluating AI support output.
• Review and score LLM responses for accuracy, usefulness, tone, and adherence to support best practices.
• Provide detailed feedback and examples that help models handle realistic technical support interactions.
• Document edge cases, common failure modes, and areas where model guidance should be adjusted.
• Work primarily asynchronously, coordinating with researchers and project teams to complete evaluation tasks on schedule.

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in technical support or closely related roles.
• Relevant role experience may include Technical Support Specialist, IT Support Engineer, IT Service Desk Specialist, Desktop Support Specialist, or similar positions.
• Comfort with primarily asynchronous work in collaboration with leading AI research teams.
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.

• Location: Remote, work from anywhere.
• Employment type: Part-time.
• Schedule: Flexible hours, asynchronous work, no minimum hourly commitment required.
• Project placement is not guaranteed, it depends on project availability. The program runs year-round, with new project opportunities opening periodically across different areas of expertise.

• Pay rate: Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for projects. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm whether a specific project meets your school’s CPT or OPT requirements.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
