Technical Design Professional for AI Research

Technical Design Experts apply hands-on experience with CAD, graphics, and other technical design tools to evaluate model outputs, create domain-specific prompts, and help AI systems learn to perform and describe real-world technical and design tasks.

You will contribute your practical knowledge of technical design tools to an ongoing AI research program that runs year-round. Project opportunities open periodically across different specialties, and placement into specific projects depends on availability.

• Apply professional expertise to help improve how AI understands real-world technical tasks and professional language.
• Develop domain-specific prompts and test cases for language models.
• Evaluate large language model responses for correctness, clarity, and relevance to real-world technical workflows.
• Participate in asynchronous collaboration with AI research teams, providing informed feedback that guides model improvement.

• At least 1+ year of work experience using one or more of the following tools: AutoCAD, FreeCAD, KiCAD, GIMP, Godot, or other related technical design tools.
• Comfort and capacity to work asynchronously with distributed AI research teams.

• Remote, asynchronous work, perform tasks from your preferred location.
• Part-time engagement, with flexible hours and no minimum hourly commitment.
• Project placement is dependent on project availability; opportunities open periodically throughout the year.

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported.
