About this role
Perform live music in high-foot-traffic San Francisco public spaces as part of a filmed outdoor music project that introduces local artists to new audiences and explores the future of music education.
Role OverviewTwenty to forty solo musicians and small groups will perform across San Francisco on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7. Performances may take place in FiDi, the Marina, Dolores Park, Alamo Square, Pier 39, or Golden Gate Park.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a 1-2 hour live set during an assigned lunch, afternoon, or happy-hour time slot.
- Perform at an approved location and secure the desired location and related logistics, including any required city permit or private-property arrangement.
- Wear event apparel and display basic event signage during the performance.
- Participate in approximately 20-60 minutes of filming and recording by a small production crew during the set.
- Provide and manage your own instruments and equipment.
- Solo musician or small group of 1-3 performers with strong live-performance and musical-instrument skills.
- Comfort performing publicly and coordinating event logistics.
- Ability to share a portfolio or social-media links to promote your work.
- Strong time management, professionalism, adaptability, and awareness of permit and compliance requirements.
- Available for a 1-2 hour set on August 6 or August 7. Performing on both days is welcome.
- Daily time slots are 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, and 5:00 PM-8:00 PM.
- Final locations will be confirmed with each performer and remain subject to approval.
$100-$300 per hour.
Eligibility- Must be able to perform at a location where you are already permitted or approved to play. Permit coordination is not available.
- Performances are recorded for marketing content and research into AI tools that support music learning and discovery. Participation requires full consent and a signed release covering the stated recording and licensing uses.
