Street Performing Musician for AI Model Training

Bring live music to San Francisco public spaces for a two-day microsessions event, performing professionally captured 1 to 2 hour sets. This paid opportunity combines public performance, audience exposure, and short-form video and audio capture for marketing and research purposes.

• Perform a live 1 to 2 hour set at one assigned time slot on Thursday, August 6 or Friday, August 7, 2026.
• Available time slots, one per set: LUNCH, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM; AFTERNOON, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM; HAPPY HOUR, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
• Perform at a high-foot-traffic location across San Francisco, including but not limited to FiDi, the Marina, Dolores Park, Alamo Square, Pier 39, and Golden Gate Park. Final locations will be confirmed with each musician, however musicians must secure permission to play at their chosen locations.
• Wear event-branded apparel provided for the microsessions and display basic signage explaining the event during the performance.
• Be filmed and recorded by a small production crew for approximately 20 to 60 minutes during the set. Recordings will be used for marketing and for model training research as described in the consent and release.
• Manage on-site logistics for your performance, including setup, tear-down, and crowd interaction while maintaining professionalism and adaptability.

• Solo musician or a small group of 1 to 3 performers.
• Demonstrated live music performance ability and proficiency on your instrument or instruments.
• Comfort with public performance and outdoor settings.
• Experience coordinating event logistics and time management during live sets.
• Ability to self-promote, including sharing portfolio materials or social media links as part of the application.
• Awareness of permit and compliance requirements for public performances and willingness to secure necessary permissions.
• Comfort with being audio and video recorded and complying with on-site production needs.
• Professional conduct, reliability, and adaptability to outdoor performance conditions and changing circumstances.

• Event dates: Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7. Selected musicians may be invited to perform on one or both days.
• Number of participants sought: 20 to 40 solo musicians and small groups.
• Performances take place across multiple outdoor public locations in San Francisco. Musicians are responsible for securing permission to perform at their preferred location, whether through a city permit or a private property arrangement. Final performance locations require organizer approval.
• Musicians must provide their own instruments and equipment.
• Musicians will wear provided event apparel and display basic event signage while performing.
• Each performance will be recorded on-site for 20 to 60 minutes by a small production crew.

Pay range: $100 to $300 per hour. Musicians will be compensated and must provide consent via a signed release that covers licensing for the described uses of the recordings.

• Available to perform during one of the specified time slots on August 6 or August 7, 2026. Playing on both days is welcome if interested.
• Must be able to perform at a location where you are already permitted or approved to play. Organizers cannot coordinate permits at this time, so you must secure any required permissions and handle associated logistics.
• Willingness to be filmed and recorded, and to sign a release granting rights for marketing and research uses as described. Recordings will be used for a launch film, social content, and research aimed at improving music understanding and discovery tools.
• Responsible for bringing your own equipment and managing your setup and tear-down.

• Submit your application with: preferred date and time slot availability, links to a portfolio or social media demonstrating recent live performance work, and your preferred performance location along with the current status of any permit or permission for that location.
• Indicate whether you are applying as a solo performer or a group of 1 to 3 people, and whether you are available to play both days.
• Selected musicians will be notified, will finalize a location with the organizers, and will be required to sign a release confirming consent to filming and the stated usage of recordings.
• Selection target is 20 to 40 performers. Final placement depends on fit, availability, and confirmed location permissions.
