About this role

Role Overview

Spatial Data Analysts apply QGIS and spatial analysis skills to evaluate AI-generated GIS outputs and give domain feedback that improves AI performance on spatial data tasks and workflows. This ongoing, project-based contract role involves reviewing maps, spatial data edits, prompts, and model responses, and delivering clear, actionable evaluations you can complete alongside other commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use hands-on experience with geographic information systems, spatial data analysis, or environmental mapping to assess AI-generated content.
  • Review and evaluate AI-produced maps, vector and raster edits, coordinate transformations, metadata, and spatial analysis results.
  • Develop and refine domain-specific prompts, and test and evaluate large language model responses related to GIS tasks.
  • Provide structured feedback and corrections to help AI better understand GIS workflows and spatial reasoning.
  • Document results, follow detailed project instructions, and complete assigned evaluation tasks independently and asynchronously.
Qualifications
  • At least 1+ year of professional experience using QGIS.
  • Practical experience with spatial data workflows, environmental mapping, or related GIS activities.
  • Familiarity with evaluating model outputs or willingness to learn how to assess LLM responses.
  • Ability to work asynchronously and communicate clearly with remote AI research teams.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type, hourly contract, independent contractor, part-time.
  • Remote, asynchronous work from any location.
  • Flexible schedule, there is no minimum weekly hour commitment.
  • Project placement is dependent on project availability.
Compensation
