About this role

Role Overview

Design and deliver reproducible software engineering problems and golden reference solutions that train and evaluate next-generation AI systems, focusing on code fixing, feature implementation, refactoring, and performance optimization. You will create reinforcement learning environments that test an AI model''s ability to solve complex engineering tasks, and provide expert code artifacts and explanations that improve model learning and reasoning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create reproducible reinforcement learning environments and a golden reference solution for each problem scenario.
  • Provide expert-level code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights in one or more languages, including Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects and performance bottlenecks across diverse codebases.
  • Implement new features with attention to scalability, maintainability, and software engineering best practices.
  • Refactor and optimize legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
  • Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions to enhance the quality of AI training data.
  • Review and validate peer-contributed code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.
Qualifications
  • Senior-level software engineering experience, with significant hands-on expertise in at least one of: Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to debug complex systems, resolve bugs, and deliver performance optimizations.
  • Experience performing large codebase refactoring and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Track record of delivering high-impact features from conception through delivery within cross-functional projects.
  • Clear technical writing and communication skills to explain design decisions and reasoning.
  • Interest in AI is helpful but prior AI experience is not required; domain expertise and engineering skill are the priority.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: Independent contractor.
  • Approximate weekly time commitment: ~15 hrs a week.
  • Location: Remote.
  • Minimum submission requirements apply; the project requires experts to submit a minimum number of tasks per week.
Compensation
  • Stated rate range: $50 - $150 per hour.
  • Compensation structure: Output-based, paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete tasks may vary by expert experience and workflow.
Application Process and Start Timeline
  • Roles are typically filled within 48 hours; candidates who are selected should be ready to begin quickly.
  • If selected, you will be expected to start your first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.
