Role Overview
Build reproducible reinforcement-learning environments and reference solutions that test AI systems on complex software engineering work, including bug fixes, feature development, refactoring, and performance optimization. Your practical engineering expertise will help improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Create reproducible coding environments and golden reference solutions for complex software engineering problems.
- Contribute expert code samples, debugging strategies, and development insights in Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex defects and performance bottlenecks across varied codebases.
- Implement scalable, maintainable features that follow software engineering best practices.
- Refactor and optimize legacy code to improve clarity, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
- Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions to support high-quality AI training data.
- Review and validate peer code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.
Qualifications
- Significant hands-on expertise in at least one of Python 3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex systems, resolve defects, and deliver effective performance optimizations.
- Experience refactoring large codebases and modernizing legacy systems.
- Experience delivering high-impact features from concept through delivery in cross-functional projects.
- Clear technical documentation and communication skills.
- Interest in AI and its technical challenges is welcome; previous AI experience is not required.
Work Terms
- Remote independent contractor engagement.
- Expected commitment is approximately 15 hours per week.
- Work is task-based, with minimum weekly submission requirements.
Compensation
- Advertised pay range: $50 to $100 per hour.
- Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications. Completion time may vary based on experience and workflow.
