Role Overview
Own the general ledger and lead the month-end close process for a fast-growing, remote-first AI data lab. This role ensures books are accurate, close timelines are met, and financial information is reliable and decision-ready for leadership and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are substantiated and documented
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations
- Identify and implement improvements to the close process to reduce cycle time and increase accuracy
- Partner with leadership to ensure financial data is audit-ready and supports confident decision-making
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls around the close and reporting cycle
- Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CA preferred
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with a clear focus on general ledger management and month-end close
- Hands-on experience with an ERP or accounting system
- Strong command of Google Sheets and Excel
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation
- Strong attention to detail, able to manage tight close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced startup environment
- Preferred: CPA license or progress toward certification, exposure to AI tools or automated accounting workflows

- Listed compensation for this role: $110, 000 to $150, 000 yearly
- Public national pay range notice for this full-time position: base salary $90, 000 to $120, 000 USD
- All employees are eligible for equity compensation
