Role Overview

Regulatory Analysts apply hands-on energy regulation, rate case analysis, and regulatory reporting expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and to produce expert-level training data that improves AI understanding of regulatory workflows and energy finance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, relevance, and completeness relative to energy regulation and rate case work.
  • Create and annotate expert training data that reflects real-world regulatory workflows, filings, and rate analysis practices.
  • Provide clear, detailed written feedback that helps research teams refine AI behavior and domain knowledge.
  • Leverage your daily-use tools and systems to validate outputs and to generate realistic examples and scenarios.
  • Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams to meet project deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in energy regulation, rate analysis, or regulatory compliance, in roles such as Regulatory Analyst, Rate Case Analyst, FERC Reporting Analyst, or equivalent energy industry positions.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: SAP, Oracle MDM, Power BI.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail, and ability to document findings and feedback clearly.
  • Comfort working independently and asynchronously with distributed research teams.
  • No prior AI experience required.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: hourly contract, part time.
  • Location: fully remote.
  • Schedule: flexible, asynchronous work that can be done alongside other commitments.
  • Minimum hours: none. Most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
  • Project-based placement: assignment to projects depends on current needs, and contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation
  • Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
  • Paid on an hourly contract basis.
Eligibility and Application Process
