Role Overview
QGIS specialists apply geographic information systems and spatial analysis skills to evaluate AI-generated GIS content and improve how AI handles spatial data workflows. This role is project-based, hourly contract work you can perform remotely and alongside other commitments.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate AI-generated maps, spatial analyses, and other GIS outputs using QGIS and your domain experience.
- Provide detailed, actionable feedback to help improve AI performance on GIS tasks, spatial data workflows, and environmental mapping scenarios.
- Develop and test domain-specific prompts and evaluate responses from large language models.
- Assess spatial data accuracy, projections, and visualization quality, and document edge cases or recurring errors.
- Deliver clear examples and recommended corrections to guide AI training and evaluation.
- At least 1+ year of hands-on experience using QGIS.
- Experience with spatial data analysis, environmental mapping, or related GIS workflows and tools.
- Familiarity with common GIS file formats and typical spatial data tasks is helpful.
- Ability to work asynchronously and communicate effectively with remote AI research teams.
- Part-time, remote, asynchronous contract engagement.
- Flexible scheduling with no minimum weekly hour commitment.
- Work is project-based and paid on an hourly contract basis.
- Placement onto specific projects is dependent on project availability.

Eligibility- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate; consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this project-based work may not meet that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported.
