QGIS Specialist for AI Research Evaluation

QGIS Specialists apply geographic information systems and spatial analysis skills to evaluate AI-generated GIS outputs and improve AI understanding of spatial data workflows and environmental mapping tasks. You will use hands-on experience with QGIS and related tools to review, test, and provide feedback on AI responses to GIS problems. The work is project-based and can be performed alongside other commitments.

• Evaluate AI-generated maps, spatial analyses, and GIS workflows for accuracy, completeness, and practical applicability.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback to help AI models better understand GIS tasks, spatial data handling, and environmental mapping scenarios.
• Develop domain-specific prompts and assess large language model responses related to GIS problems.
• Perform hands-on tasks in QGIS and other GIS tools to reproduce, validate, or troubleshoot AI outputs when requested.

• At least 1+ year of work experience using QGIS or similar GIS tools.
• Practical experience in spatial data analysis, cartography, or environmental mapping.
• Comfort working asynchronously and communicating effectively with remote AI research teams.

• Remote and asynchronous engagement, work independently from any location.
• Hourly, contract-based work, with flexible scheduling and no minimum hours required.
• Part-time, project-based assignments that you can take on alongside other commitments.
• Placement into specific projects will be dependent on project availability.

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects; consult your Designated School Official to determine your eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course as a condition of CPT, these projects may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.

• Begin assignments and receive compensation on an hourly basis.
