Public Safety Communications Dispatcher

Role Overview

Apply your public safety communications expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through realistic incident coordination, routing, documentation, and decision-making scenarios. This remote contract role is suited to dispatchers and coordinators with experience in 911, police, ambulance, emergency, or fire services. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze incoming incident and service requests, assess urgency using established criteria, and prioritize the appropriate response.
• Route requests to the right resources or agencies through clear, efficient simulated radio, phone, and digital chat communications.
• Manage multiple communication channels at once while maintaining accuracy, composure, and timely delivery of critical information.
• Apply standardized protocols, checklists, and escalation procedures consistently.
• Document scenarios, actions, decisions, and rationale for AI training datasets.
• Provide input on workflow optimization, escalation practices, and multi-channel coordination in public safety settings.
• Participate in periodic feedback reviews to improve the relevance and quality of training data.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a dispatcher or coordinator in a public safety environment, including 911, police, ambulance, emergency, or fire services.
• Ability to prioritize and triage requests under pressure.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in fast-paced settings.
• Experience using radio, phone, and digital chat communication channels.
• Strong knowledge of operating procedures, checklists, and escalation protocols used in public safety communications.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and detail-oriented in dynamic situations.
• Familiarity with documenting incident details, actions taken, and decision rationale.

Work Terms

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Compensation is task-based, and time required may vary based on experience and workflow.
• Tasks must meet project specifications and minimum submission requirements. A minimum number of tasks must be submitted each week.
• Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be prepared to begin initial tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required onboarding steps.

Compensation

$30 to $55 per hour.
