About this role

Role Overview

Project Controls Engineers apply project scheduling, cost control, and construction planning expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs and produce expert-level feedback that improves AI understanding of project controls workflows and practices. This engagement is project-based and flexible, allowing contributors to work alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate AI-produced content related to project controls, scheduling, cost forecasting, and construction planning.
  • Perform expert-level analytical tasks using your professional tools and workflows, for example building price forecast models or preparing PPA documentation, in a structured project format.
  • Provide clear, detailed feedback that helps refine AI behavior on project controls tasks and scenarios.
  • Work independently and asynchronously to deliver data outputs and documentation consistent with professional practice.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in project controls, scheduling, or construction planning.
  • Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Project Scheduler, Senior Scheduler, Project Controls Engineer, Construction Planner, EPC Project Manager, or Project Planner in the energy or construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail, and proven ability to work independently on asynchronous assignments.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
  • Fully remote, flexible and asynchronous schedule, no minimum hour requirement.
  • Typical participation during active projects is approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
  • Ongoing, project-by-project availability, which can be balanced with other employment or academic commitments.
  • Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for additional projects as they become available.
Compensation
  • Up to $80/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
  • F-1 students may be eligible if they have CPT or OPT authorization. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether a given engagement meets your school s CPT requirements.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported.
