Role Overview
Process engineers apply process and refinery engineering expertise to evaluate AI-generated content, produce expert-level analytical outputs, and give feedback that improves AI understanding of real-world process engineering practice.
Key Responsibilities- Use your professional process engineering workflows and tools to complete project tasks and produce data outputs at an expert level.
- Evaluate AI-generated content for technical accuracy, practical applicability, and alignment with industry best practices in process simulation, refinery planning, and chemical engineering.
- Create real work deliverables in a structured, project-based format, for example building price forecast models or preparing power purchase agreement documentation.
- Provide clear, detailed written feedback so AI systems can learn from real-world engineering practices.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in process or refinery engineering in roles such as Process Engineer, Refinery Engineer, Process Simulation Engineer, Refinery Planning Engineer, LP Modeler, Refinery Optimization Engineer, or equivalent positions in the energy or chemical industry.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Aspen, Haverly GRTMPS, SuperPro Designer, AVEVA PI.
- Bachelor''s degree or higher in an engineering or related technical discipline.
- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and asynchronously.
- Engagement type: part-time, hourly contract work, independent-contractor style.
- Location: fully remote.
- Schedule: flexible, asynchronous work, no minimum hour requirement; contributors typically work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
- Project placement depends on current project needs, with consideration for future projects as they become available.
- Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).
- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for participation.
