About this role

Role Overview

Power Systems Engineers apply their power systems analysis, transmission and distribution planning, and industrial controls expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and create expert-level training data. You will assess AI responses for technical accuracy and relevance, provide detailed written feedback grounded in real-world workflows and tools, and help improve how AI represents power systems engineering practices. This is project-based, hourly contract work you can do remotely alongside other commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use hands-on experience with power systems analysis, grid planning, and industrial controls to review AI-generated outputs for technical correctness and practicality.
  • Create expert-level training examples and reference material based on the tools and workflows you use in daily practice.
  • Provide clear, written corrections, explanations, and rationale to improve AI responses and guide future model behavior.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in power systems engineering, transmission and distribution planning, or industrial controls.
  • Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Distribution or Transmission Planning Engineer, Power Systems Engineer, Reliability Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, or Automation Engineer, or equivalent positions in the energy industry.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: CYME, PSS/E, ETAP, WinCC.
  • Strong written communication skills, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with an AI research team.
  • No prior AI experience is required.
Work Terms

Part-time, remote, hourly contract engagement. Schedule is flexible and asynchronous, there is no minimum hour requirement, and most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project. Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, and contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.

Compensation

Up to $80/hr (depending on the project)
