About this role

Power Market Analysts apply hands-on experience in energy trading, power market analysis, and power purchase agreement development to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert analytical outputs that improve AI understanding of energy trading workflows and market practices.

Role Overview

This is a project-based, hourly contract role in which you will perform real, practitioner-level tasks, such as price forecasting and PPA documentation, within a structured research format. Work is fully remote and designed to fit alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy and relevance to power market and energy trading workflows, providing detailed feedback.
  • Independently produce expert analytical deliverables and data outputs that reflect your professional practice.
  • Complete applied tasks that mirror real-world work, for example building power market price forecast models and preparing or reviewing power purchase agreement documentation.
  • Use familiar professional tools and workflows to generate and validate outputs as required by each project.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in power markets or energy trading, in roles such as Power Market Analyst, Power Trader, Energy Trading Analyst, or equivalent energy industry positions.
  • Bachelor''s degree or higher.
  • Proven ability to independently produce work using one or more of the following tools: Salesforce, AVEVA PI, Bloomberg.
  • Experience completing workflows such as power market price forecast modeling and PPA development and negotiation.
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote.
  • Employment type: PART_TIME, hourly contract, project-based engagement.
  • Schedule: Flexible, asynchronous schedule with no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while active on a project.
  • Placement and project assignments depend on current project needs; contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation
  • Up to $80/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate; consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course or similar, this project-based engagement may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this engagement.
