Role Overview
Power Market Analysts apply hands-on power market analysis, energy trading, and power purchase agreement experience to evaluate AI-generated outputs and produce expert analytical deliverables that improve AI understanding of energy trading workflows and market practices.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate AI-generated content related to power markets, trading, and PPAs, and provide detailed, expert feedback.
- Independently produce expert-level analytical work and data outputs using the tools and workflows from your professional practice.
- Complete real work tasks in a structured, project-based format, for example building power price forecast models and developing PPA documentation.
- Deliver clear written explanations and annotations so outputs can be used to train or test AI systems.
- Use one or more professional tools as needed to reproduce typical workflows and data outputs.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in power markets or energy trading, in roles such as Power Market Analyst, Power Trader, Energy Trading Analyst, or equivalent energy industry positions.
- Bachelor''s degree or higher.
- Proven ability to independently complete workflows such as power market price forecast modeling and PPA development and negotiation.
- Familiarity with at least one of these tools: Salesforce, AVEVA PI, Bloomberg.
- Strong written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and asynchronously.
- Engagement type: hourly contract, remote, part-time project work. This is not a traditional full-time job; work is project-based and flexible.
- Schedule: fully remote with an asynchronous schedule and no minimum hour requirement. When participating in an active project, most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
- This engagement can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
- Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs. Contributors may be considered for future projects as new opportunities arise.
- Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).
- F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT authorization may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility for this type of project-based, contract work.
- If your school requires a CPT course enrollment for CPT approval, this program may not meet that requirement.
- STEM OPT extension is not supported for participation in these projects.

- Once accepted and onboarded into a project, begin completing assignments and receive payment according to the project terms.
