Role Overview
Nursing undergraduates apply clinical and patient-care knowledge to evaluate and improve AI language model outputs for nursing topics, developing and testing prompts and assessing responses for accuracy, safety, and clarity.
Key Responsibilities- Design and refine domain-specific prompts for large language models.
- Evaluate model responses for clinical accuracy, relevance, and patient-safety considerations.
- Conduct independent research on nursing topics, using AI tools as an aid when appropriate.
- Document findings and provide clear feedback to improve model behavior in nursing subdomains.
- Learn new skills related to AI evaluation and domain annotation while contributing across multiple nursing disciplines.
- Note that assignment to specific projects depends on project availability in the nursing domain.
- Must be a current undergraduate in nursing.
- Comfortable working primarily asynchronously and independently, including collaboration with research teams or AI labs.
- Confident that your nursing knowledge can outperform current AI systems in explaining and reasoning about key clinical concepts.
- Willingness to learn new evaluation and annotation techniques related to AI development.
- Location: Remote.
- Employment type: Part time.
- Work is asynchronous, with flexible scheduling and no minimum required hours.
- The program operates year-round, however project availability will vary by domain and placement depends on open projects.
- Up to $50/hr (depending on the project)
- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
