Ophthalmologist for AI Research Evaluation

Ophthalmologists apply clinical and procedural expertise to evaluate AI-generated ophthalmology content and provide targeted feedback that improves AI understanding of ophthalmic concepts, workflows, and professional medical language in general, non-patient-specific contexts. This is part-time, hourly contract work that can be done alongside your primary employment.

• Use real-world ophthalmology experience to review AI-generated responses for accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness in general, non-patient-specific scenarios.
• Design job-related questions and prompts that reflect clinical workflows and professional language.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to help refine AI output on ophthalmic topics.
• Follow written guidelines for review tasks and deliver evaluations independently and reliably.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
• No prior AI or technical experience required.

• Minimum 4+ years of post-training professional experience practicing ophthalmology.
• Current or recent roles such as comprehensive ophthalmologist or subspecialist, including but not limited to retina, glaucoma, cornea, pediatrics, or oculoplastics; consultant or attending ophthalmologist; or an academic ophthalmologist who combines clinical work with teaching or research.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing and managing eye conditions, performing ophthalmic procedures, and communicating clinical information to patients and other clinicians.
• Strong written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and following written instructions.
• Professional judgment, reliability, and a high standard of discretion and confidentiality.
• You will submit one application and, if qualified, be considered for part-time, project-based assignments as new projects are posted.

• Engagement type: Independent contractor, hourly contract.
• Location: Fully remote. Must have a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer.
• Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
• Duration and availability: Projects run year-round with new projects opening periodically across specialties. Placement on projects depends on current needs, and qualified reviewers may be considered for future assignments as they become available.
• This is not a traditional full-time clinical role and is intended to be compatible with primary employment.

• Up to $300/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students may be eligible if they have appropriate CPT or OPT authorization. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, these projects may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
