About this role

Music experts with deep knowledge of regional traditions can help evaluate and improve AI systems’ understanding of global music.

Role Overview

Contribute music expertise across traditions from Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, including East, Southeast, and Central Asia, Oceania, and Sub-Saharan Africa. No technical or AI background is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop domain-specific prompts and evaluate large language model responses.
  • Apply specialized music knowledge to AI projects across disciplines.
  • Build new skills while contributing to evolving AI work.
Qualifications
  • Master’s, PhD, or DMA in Music.
  • Experience with regional music from Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, Oceania, or Sub-Saharan Africa is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to participate in primarily asynchronous work alongside leading AI labs.
Work Terms
  • Remote, asynchronous, part-time work that can be completed independently from your location.
  • Flexible hours with no minimum hourly commitment.
  • Project placement depends on project availability.
Compensation

Up to $105/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility

F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility. If your school requires a CPT course, this work may not satisfy that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
