Music Specialist for AI Model Training

Music experts apply academic and professional knowledge in music theory, composition, performance, or production to design domain-specific prompts and evaluate large language model responses for music-related tasks. You will contribute to AI research by assessing model outputs, refining prompts, and exploring musical topics with AI assistance.

• Develop and refine domain-specific prompts for music-related tasks.
• Evaluate and rate large language model responses for accuracy, clarity, and musical relevance.
• Conduct topic research in areas that interest you, using AI tools as a research aid.
• Document findings and provide feedback that helps improve model performance in specialized music subdomains.
• Participate asynchronously in project activities, meeting deadlines and quality standards for each assignment.
• Be available for placement on projects when openings align with your expertise; assignment depends on project availability.

• Completed a degree in Music, Music Theory, Music Composition, or a closely related field. Master’s students and graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Practical experience as a music professor, composer, producer, critic, or similar professional role is preferred, and music should be an active part of your daily life.
• Comfort with primarily asynchronous work and collaboration with external AI research teams.
• Confidence that your subject-matter expertise can exceed current AI systems in explaining and applying key musical concepts.

• Remote, asynchronous engagement, work from any location.
• Part-time commitment with flexible hours, there is no minimum required number of hours.
• The program runs year-round, however project availability varies by domain and placement depends on open projects.

• Up to $88/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate in projects through this program. You must consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
• If your school requires enrollment in a specific CPT course for authorization, this program may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported for participation.
