About this role

Role Overview

Music Content Analysts apply musical training and critical listening to verify lyrics, label song structure, and analyze vocal performances to train and evaluate AI systems that process and understand music.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lyric review and correction, ensuring accuracy in wording, phrasing, and structure for provided audio excerpts.
  • Classify each excerpt into its correct song section, for example verse, chorus, bridge, and other structural segments.
  • Vocal analysis to identify the number of singers on a track and infer vocalist gender from the audio.
  • Support project tasks that may include creating domain-specific prompts and evaluating responses from large language models.
  • Work asynchronously and independently on remote assignments, following project guidelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Current students or graduates with formal study in Music, Music Theory, Music Composition, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience as a performing, recording, or touring musician is valued.
  • Strong ear for pitch, harmony, vocal layering, and arrangement, with familiarity of common song structures across genres.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work reliably without direct supervision.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, asynchronous work.
  • Employment type: Part time.
  • Approximate time commitment: 10 to 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
Compensation
  • Up to $50/hr, depending on the project.
Eligibility
  • Open to U.S.-based students, candidates, and recent graduates who have valid work or training authorization, for example F-1 with OPT, J-1, or H-1B.
  • F-1 students who may be eligible for CPT or OPT should confirm eligibility with their Designated School Official before applying. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this position may not meet that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
  • Applicants are responsible for ensuring they comply with their visa or work authorization conditions prior to starting any project.
