Role Overview
Evaluate AI-generated music across a wide range of genres, rating outputs against detailed quality standards in both Japanese and English. You will make comparative judgments about musicality, creativity, vocal performance, and production quality to help improve generative music models developed in partnership with a leading AI research lab.
Key Responsibilities- Compare pairs of AI-generated songs head-to-head on musicality, creativity, adherence to prompts, vocal quality, and production and mix quality.
- Label songs with metadata such as genre, structure, instrumentation, vocal presence, and other musical characteristics.
- Review AI-generated lyrics and sung vocals against reference material to assess quality and accuracy.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese, with strong ability to follow detailed written instructions in English.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer.
- Access to headphones or studio monitors appropriate for critical listening.
- Nice to have: formal training in music performance, theory, or composition.
- Nice to have: credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work.
- Nice to have: broad familiarity with contemporary Japanese genres, sub-genres, and artists.
- Location: Remote.
- Employment type: Hourly contractor.

- Duration: Up to 6 months.
- Commitment: Flexible. Most experts work around 20 hours per week; there is no cap on hours.
- Hourly rate: 35 to 62 per hour.
