Role Overview
Apply hands-on mechanical engineering technology expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through realistic technical tasks, datasets, solution paths, and evaluations. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design authentic technician workflow tasks involving test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and failure diagnosis.
- Create technical datasets from real lab or production scenarios, including test logs, calibration records, sensor outputs, and failure reports.
- Define accurate solution paths, interpret test data, and recommend informed next steps.
- Develop grading rubrics with 35 or more items to assess instrumentation logic, data interpretation, and failure analysis.
- Document procedures, observations, and diagnostic findings with precision and clarity.
- Ensure evaluation tasks reflect the complexity and realism of professional practice rather than simplified textbook examples.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical engineering technology lab, test, or production environments.
- Associate degree or recognized trade credential in mechanical engineering technology or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience with instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, and prototype testing workflows.
- Ability to document test procedures, outcomes, and failure modes in depth.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret complex datasets and diagnose equipment or process failures.
- Familiarity with CSV files, spreadsheets, PDFs, and other technical documentation formats.
- Comfort working independently on remote projects while meeting high technical standards.

- Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications; completion time varies by experience and workflow.
