About this role

Role Overview

Shape high-stakes AI evaluation tasks grounded in enterprise product design and manufacturing. You will create realistic mechanical engineering scenarios, reference outputs, and assessment rubrics that reflect the judgment expected of senior engineering leaders working at large industrial organizations. The work supports both US standards, including ASME, and international standards, including ISO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create enterprise mechanical engineering scenarios covering complex product design cycles, multi-stakeholder design reviews, and manufacturing or regulatory certification processes.
  • Develop tasks across product design and CAD modeling, thermal and fluid systems analysis, structural and stress analysis, manufacturing process engineering, and reliability and failure analysis.
  • Build scenarios involving SolidWorks, ANSYS, CATIA, MATLAB/Simulink, and enterprise PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter and PTC Windchill.
  • Apply FEA and CFD simulation, DFM and DFA principles, Six Sigma and DFSS, and GD&T practices aligned with ASME Y14.5 or ISO GPS.
  • Produce reference design specifications, engineering analyses, and executive-level technical narratives.
  • Write rubrics that differentiate practical enterprise engineering judgment from generic textbook or coursework-level knowledge.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer or engineering lead at a Fortune 500 company or major industrial, automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing organization, such as GE, Boeing, Caterpillar, Ford, Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch, Rolls-Royce, or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
  • Direct ownership of large-scale product designs, manufacturing processes, or engineering certification programs.
  • Strong command of enterprise mechanical engineering tools and methods, along with practical knowledge of safety standards, regulatory certification requirements including ASME, ISO, FAA, and FDA, and cross-functional design governance.
  • A US PE license or international equivalent, such as CEng or EUR ING, is preferred.
  • Prior experience authoring rubrics, engineering-training curricula, or design documentation is preferred.

Work Terms

  • Remote, hourly engagement.
  • Experience with the US ASME track, the international ISO track, or both is welcome.

Compensation

$70 to $80 per hour.

Application Process

Apply if your background aligns with either the ASME-focused US standards track or the ISO-focused international standards track.
