Role Overview
Manufacturing professionals apply their manufacturing, purchasing, design, or engineering expertise to create and evaluate prompts, and to assess large language model outputs so AI systems better understand real-world manufacturing tasks and language.
Key Responsibilities- Develop industry-specific prompts and test cases that reflect real manufacturing workflows.
- Evaluate and annotate LLM responses for accuracy, relevance, and practical feasibility in manufacturing contexts.
- Provide domain feedback to improve model understanding of tasks such as purchasing, inventory management, shipping and receiving, product design, and engineering processes.
- Work asynchronously with project teams to meet deliverables and quality standards.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following or similar roles:
- Buyers and Purchasing Agent
- Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Clerk
- Commercial and Industrial Designer
- Electronics Engineer, Except Computer
- Chemical Engineer
- Comfortable participating in primarily asynchronous work with technical teams and AI research partners.
- Location: Remote, work independently from your location.
- Employment type: Part-time.
- Schedule: Flexible hours, asynchronous work, no minimum hours required.
- Project availability: The program runs year-round, with project opportunities opening periodically across different expertise areas. Placement into a project depends on project availability.
Up to $120/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility and Work Authorization- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects in this program. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for authorization, this program may not meet that course requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported.
