About this role
Role Overview
Apply advanced mechanical design expertise to help train next-generation AI systems with high-quality, real-world engineering input. You will create, document, and validate production-ready mechanical components and assemblies using FreeCAD or comparable parametric CAD software. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise detailed parametric 3D CAD models for mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Produce manufacturing-ready engineering drawings, including GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
- Design for sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastics, and injection molding.
- Conduct CAD validation and quality assurance reviews to confirm model accuracy and production readiness.
- Prepare clear technical documentation and assembly instructions for AI model training reference materials.
- Incorporate technical reviewer feedback to improve CAD models and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.
- Advanced FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD experience, including modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation.
- Experience with parametric CAD modeling, mechanical design, 3D CAD modeling, assembly design, engineering drawings, CAD validation, and quality assurance.
- Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal, CNC, plastics, and injection molding design considerations.
- Strong command of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to produce production-grade CAD models and assess manufacturability against real-world criteria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
