Role Overview
Maintenance planners use hands-on experience in asset management, maintenance planning, and grid operations to evaluate AI-generated content and help improve AI understanding of maintenance workflows and reliability engineering practices. This is flexible, hourly contract work that you can perform remotely alongside other commitments.
Key Responsibilities- Review AI-generated responses related to maintenance planning, asset management, outage coordination, and grid operations for technical accuracy and relevance.
- Provide detailed, role-specific feedback that corrects errors, clarifies procedures, and captures practical constraints from field work.
- Create expert-level training examples and annotations based on real-world practices and the tools you use daily.
- Work asynchronously with AI research teams, documenting decisions and rationale so models learn operational context and reliability best practices.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in asset management, maintenance reliability, or grid operations in roles such as Maintenance Planner, Reliability Engineer, Outage Coordinator, Distribution Operations Analyst, or equivalent energy-industry positions.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: IBM Maximo, Oracle OMS, AVEVA PI, ArcGIS.
- Strong written communication skills, close attention to detail, and ability to work independently and asynchronously with research teams.
- No prior AI experience required.
- Engagement type: hourly contract, independent contractor style, not a traditional salaried role.
- Location: fully remote.
- Schedule: flexible, asynchronous work with no minimum hour requirement.
- Typical commitment when a project is active: approximately 5 to 20 hours per week.
- This is an ongoing, project-based arrangement, you may take on other work concurrently.
- Placement depends on current project needs, with the possibility to be considered for future projects as they become available.
