About this role

Role Overview

Help improve AI-narrated Italian audiobooks by assessing whether each listening experience sounds natural, accurate, and engaging to a real audience. This remote, part-time role combines the perspective of an active audiobook listener with careful audio review, helping identify where synthesized narration succeeds and where it needs improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to Italian AI-narrated audiobooks and evaluate the naturalness, accuracy, and overall quality of the narration.
  • Identify and record issues such as omitted, added, or mispronounced words, incorrectly read numbers, incorrect abbreviation expansions, unnatural phrasing or intonation, and audio glitches or artifacts.
  • Classify each issue and mark its precise location using review tools.
  • Assess overall listener satisfaction, including where narration feels convincing and where it disrupts the experience.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout extended audio-review sessions.

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in Italian as spoken in Italy.
  • A genuine, active interest in audiobooks and familiarity with the qualities that make narration enjoyable.
  • Working English sufficient to write clear reports and communicate with the team. Bilingual fluency is not required.
  • Experience in annotation, labeling, transcription, proofreading, linguistics, or similar detail-focused review work.
  • A patient, discerning ear and the ability to sustain careful, consistent work during long listening sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI training data, model evaluation, audio annotation, or quality assurance projects.
  • Background in language, editing, voice, or audio production.

Work Terms

  • Remote, hourly, part-time position.
  • Expected commitment of approximately 20 hours per week, or about 4 hours per day.
  • Applicants may be based anywhere, with preference for candidates living in a region where Italian is natively spoken.

Compensation

  • Hourly pay of 15 to 20.
