About this role

Role Overview

Postsecondary geoscience instructors use their classroom, laboratory, and field teaching experience to evaluate AI-generated geology content and provide actionable feedback that improves the system''s understanding of geological concepts, field practices, and academic language. This is part-time, remote, contract work that can be performed alongside a primary role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design job-related questions or prompts informed by geology teaching and fieldwork.
  • Review AI-generated responses for accuracy, clarity, and relevance to real-world geology instruction and field practice.
  • Provide detailed feedback and corrections to align AI output with academic and professional standards.
Qualifications
  • Four or more years of professional experience teaching geology or closely related earth science subjects at the post-secondary level.
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering geology courses, laboratory exercises, or field-based instruction.
  • Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written guidelines.
  • Professional judgment, reliability, and a commitment to discretion and confidentiality.
  • No prior AI or technical experience required.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: independent contractor, hourly contract work, not a full-time employee role.
  • Location: fully remote, work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, no minimum hour requirement; many contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
  • Duration and availability: the program runs year-round with projects opening periodically across different areas of expertise; placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, and qualified applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation

Up to $100/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility and Work Authorization
  • You must be authorized to work as an independent contractor in the jurisdiction where you perform the work.
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate; confirm your eligibility with your Designated School Official. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported.
Application Process
  • Create an account and complete a profile that documents your teaching and field experience.
  • Complete any required identity verification steps.
  • Submit your information once; if you meet the qualifications you will be considered for part-time, project-based assignments as relevant projects open.
  • If selected for a project, complete the project-specific onboarding and then perform assigned tasks under the independent contractor arrangement to receive payment.
