Vocational Instructor for AI Model Evaluation

Career and Technical Education professors apply their vocational and technical teaching and supervision experience to evaluate AI model outputs, assess field-specific content, and provide clear, structured feedback that improves model performance for workplace tasks and language. This is an hourly, temporary, part-time research engagement; no prior AI experience is required.

• Develop prompts that reflect real-world vocational and technical teaching scenarios, tasks, and language.
• Review AI-generated responses for accuracy, relevance, safety, and fidelity to workplace practices.
• Provide detailed, structured feedback and examples to help models better represent your field.
• Assess content related to your area of expertise, including instructional materials, student assessments, and workplace procedures.
• Work asynchronously to meet project milestones and quality standards established by the research team.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in career and technical education, vocational instruction, or a related technical teaching role.
• Relevant experience may include, but is not limited to: evaluating and guiding students through feedback and testing, developing and delivering engaging lectures and demonstrations with visual aids, supervising practical training, integrating academic and vocational curricula, maintaining records, creating curricula, and advising students on academic and career pathways.
• Ability to perform asynchronous work and collaborate with research teams in an online setting.

• Engagement is remote and asynchronous.
• Part-time, hourly, temporary research projects.
• Flexible schedule with no minimum weekly commitment, though most contributors average 5 to 20 hours per week.
• Placement into specific projects depends on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically.
• Typical tasks include creating prompts and evaluating model responses; assignments are contingent on matching your expertise to available projects.

• Up to $75/hr (depending on the project)

• F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for project work, subject to your school and Designated School Official approval.
• If your school requires a CPT course enrollment, this program may not meet that requirement.
• STEM OPT is not supported.
