Frontend Engineer, Technical Reasoning and Written Communication

Apply frontend engineering expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through rigorous technical analysis, architecture evaluation, and clear written communication. This remote contract role centers on JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern frontend practices, with a strong emphasis on explaining engineering decisions and providing practical, real-world feedback.

• Analyze frontend engineering decisions and document clear, concise rationales for technical approaches and architectural patterns.
• Evaluate code samples, component architectures, and state management solutions, providing actionable written feedback.
• Create technically rigorous RFCs, ADRs, design notes, and other documentation that guides frontend development.
• Explain performance optimization, accessibility, and SSR, CSR, and SSG rendering strategies in precise, well-structured writing.
• Take part in code review simulations and technical discussions, translating insights into constructive commentary.
• Provide expert domain input that improves AI systems'' performance on real-world frontend engineering tasks.

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, React or comparable frameworks, and modern HTML/CSS practices.
• Strong knowledge of component architecture, state management patterns, and frontend performance optimization.
• Experience with server-side rendering, client-side rendering, and static site generation.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear technical documentation, including RFCs, ADRs, and code review feedback.
• Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive web development best practices.
• Exceptional written English skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Experience with leading technology organizations or top academic institutions is a plus.

• $90 to $140 per hour.
