Role Overview
Engineering professionals apply their domain expertise to evaluate and improve how AI systems understand and perform real-world engineering tasks and professional language. This role is project-based, remote, and primarily asynchronous, with opportunities opening periodically across different engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Design and refine industry-specific prompts and task descriptions for large language models.
- Evaluate and score LLM responses against real-world engineering expectations and standards.
- Provide detailed feedback, examples, and corrections to help improve model behavior on professional tasks.
- Contribute knowledge across multiple projects and engineering domains as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following roles: Mechanical Engineering Technologists and Technicians, Electrical Engineers, Bioengineers, or Biomedical Engineers.
- Comfort working primarily asynchronously and independently, communicating progress and findings to project teams and AI research partners.
- Location: Remote, work from anywhere.
- Engagement: Part-time, primarily asynchronous.
- Hours: Flexible schedule with no guaranteed minimum weekly commitment.
- Project placement depends on project availability; the program operates year-round and opens projects periodically across different areas of expertise.
- Up to $100/hr (depending on the project).
- F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT authorization may be eligible to participate, but must confirm eligibility with their Designated School Official. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for participation.
