Role Overview

Engineering professionals apply their domain expertise to design prompts, evaluate model outputs, and improve the performance of large language models on engineering problems. This part-time, remote role emphasizes independent, primarily asynchronous work on short-term, project-based tasks across engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop domain-specific prompts and test cases for engineering topics.
  • Review and evaluate LLM responses for technical accuracy, clarity, and safety.
  • Conduct independent research on engineering topics, using AI tools to augment your work.
  • Document findings, edge cases, and recommended corrections to model behavior.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with project teams and AI researchers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Master''s students or graduates in Engineering.
  • Comfortable with primarily asynchronous work and independent task execution.
  • Confident that your subject-matter expertise can exceed current AI systems in explaining and reasoning about engineering concepts.
  • Willingness to learn new skills while contributing to AI development across disciplines.
  • Ability to communicate technical feedback clearly and concisely.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, asynchronous, work from anywhere.
  • Employment type: Part-time.
  • Hours: Flexible, there is no minimum hourly commitment.
  • Work is project-based and placement onto specific projects depends on project availability.
  • The program runs year-round, however available projects will vary by engineering domain.
Compensation
  • Up to $55/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be able to participate, subject to your school policies. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a specific CPT course for authorization, these projects may not satisfy that course requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
  • Refer to the program help documentation or your school for additional details on acceptable work authorizations.
