Role Overview
Energy accountants apply hands-on experience with utility metering, customer operations, and energy billing systems to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert-level training data that improves AI understanding of utility workflows and customer data management.
Key Responsibilities- Review AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, relevance, and alignment with real-world utility processes.
- Create and annotate expert training data drawn from your daily use of metering and billing tools.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to help AI systems better model customer operations and billing scenarios.
- Document edge cases and real-world examples, and collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in utility metering, customer operations, energy billing, or related energy functions.
- Relevant roles include Meter Data Analyst, Customer Ops Analyst, Billing Analyst, Energy Accountant, or equivalent positions in the energy sector.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of these tools: Oracle MDM, Oracle CC&B, SAP, Power BI.
- Strong written communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment.
- No prior AI experience required.
- Engagement: part-time, hourly contract work conducted fully remotely.
- Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
- Project-based placement: assignment to work depends on current project needs, and contributors may be considered for additional projects as they become available.
- This is an ongoing, project-based arrangement you can take on alongside other commitments.
