Role Overview
Drilling and Production Engineers apply field and production engineering expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and create expert training data that reflects real-world operations, workflows, and performance engineering practices. This is an ongoing, project-based, hourly-contract engagement you can perform remotely alongside other work.
Key Responsibilities- Use hands-on experience in industrial operations, plant performance, and energy asset management to assess AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and operational relevance.
- Create and refine expert-level training examples that capture real workflows, diagnostic approaches, and performance engineering reasoning.
- Provide detailed feedback and annotations that help AI systems better understand operations workflows, control strategies, and asset-management practices.
- Work asynchronously with AI research teams, following written instructions and quality guidelines to complete evaluation tasks.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in industrial operations, plant performance, or energy asset management.
- Relevant job titles include, but are not limited to, Plant Performance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Drilling/Production Engineer, or Generation Asset Analyst, or equivalent roles.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of these tools: AVEVA PI, WinCC, Oracle MDM, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal.
- Strong written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with remote teams.
- No prior AI experience required.
- Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
- Location: fully remote.
- Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, no minimum hour requirement. Most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
- Placement depends on current project needs; contributors may be considered for future projects as opportunities become available.
- This is not a traditional full-time employment role, it is an ongoing, project-based arrangement suitable to combine with other commitments.
