About this role

Role Overview

Customer Ops Analysts apply hands-on utility metering, customer operations, and energy billing system expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert training data that improves AI understanding of utility workflows and customer data management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use your practical experience with utility metering, customer operations, and billing systems to review AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance.
  • Create expert-level training data and annotations based on real-world workflows and customer data practices.
  • Provide clear, written feedback that helps research teams refine AI behavior and knowledge about utility operations.
  • Work independently and asynchronously to meet project-specific guidance and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in utility metering, customer operations, or related energy functions.
  • Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Meter Data Analyst, Customer Ops Analyst, Billing Analyst, or Energy Accountant, or equivalent positions within the energy industry.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: Oracle MDM, Oracle CC&B, SAP, Power BI.
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with research teams.
  • No prior AI experience required.
Work Terms
  • Part-time, hourly contract work with flexible, asynchronous scheduling.
  • Fully remote, allowing you to participate alongside other commitments.
  • No minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
  • Placement and active assignments depend on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation
  • Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
