Role Overview
Cost estimators apply construction cost-estimating expertise to review AI model outputs, assess field-specific content, and provide clear, structured feedback that improves the model''s understanding of estimating tasks and industry language, no prior AI experience required.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate AI-generated responses related to construction cost estimation for accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
- Develop and refine prompts that reflect real-world estimating scenarios and terminology.
- Assess documents, cost breakdowns, assumptions, and estimates produced by models, and record detailed feedback.
- Provide concise, structured comments and corrections that help train the model to mirror professional workflows and language.
- Work asynchronously to complete assigned evaluation tasks within provided guidelines and timelines.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience working as a cost estimator in the construction sector.
- Ability to perform asynchronous work and follow evaluation and feedback protocols, including collaborating with external AI research teams.
- Remote and asynchronous work, performed independently from your location.
- Part-time engagement, flexible hours with no minimum commitment required.
- Typical participation averages 5 to 20 hours per week for most contributors.
- Assignments are hourly and temporary, and placement depends on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different expertise areas.

- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to take part, but you must confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official. If your school requires a CPT course enrollment, this program may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this program.
