Role Overview
Construction Project Managers apply retail construction and cost estimation expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert-level training data that improves AI understanding of retail construction workflows and cost planning. This is an hourly, contract engagement that is project-based and fully remote. No prior AI experience is required, and the work can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
Key Responsibilities- Use hands-on experience in project cost estimation and architectural plan review to assess AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance.
- Provide detailed feedback to help AI systems better reflect real-world retail construction workflows and cost planning practices.
- Create and annotate expert-level training examples based on the tools and processes you use in daily work.
- Work independently and communicate findings asynchronously with the research team, maintaining clear, written explanations of decisions and corrections.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in cost estimation or construction project management.
- Relevant roles include, but are not limited to, Cost Estimator or Construction Project Manager, or equivalent positions within the retail industry.
- Hands-on experience with detailed cost estimation and architectural plan review.
- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with research teams.
- No prior AI or machine learning experience required.
- Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
- Location: fully remote.
- Schedule: flexible, asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement.
- Typical commitment: most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
- Placement and assignment to projects depend on current project needs; contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.

- F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility for these projects.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for authorization, these projects may not satisfy that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for this program.

- Begin assignments once onboarded and receive hourly compensation for completed work.
