About this role

Role Overview

Claims Specialists apply hands-on claims investigation and adjudication experience to review AI-generated content, judge its accuracy and relevance to real-world claims handling, and provide detailed feedback that improves how AI understands policy language, claims processes, and claimant communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use real-world claims experience to design job-related questions and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, relevance, and quality in the context of claims handling.
  • Assess whether AI outputs reflect correct interpretation of policy coverage, appropriate investigative steps, and suitable communications to claimants or stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, written feedback and examples to help guide model improvements.
  • Follow written guidelines and project-specific rating rubrics while working independently.
  • No prior AI or technical experience is required, the work relies on your claims domain expertise.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of professional experience in claims handling or a closely related function.
  • Direct, hands-on experience investigating claims, interpreting policy coverage, and communicating decisions to claimants or stakeholders.
  • Experience in roles such as Claims Specialist, Claims Representative, Claims Adjuster (property, casualty, auto, health, disability, or workers compensation), Claims Examiner, Claims Analyst, or senior customer service with a strong claims focus.
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to apply professional judgment.
  • Reliability, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive or proprietary information confidentially.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type, independent contractor. This is not a full-time employee role.
  • Work location, fully remote from any location with a reliable internet connection.
  • Equipment required, access to a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Schedule, flexible and asynchronous, no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project.
  • Duration and availability, the program runs year-round with projects opening periodically across expertise areas. Placement on individual projects depends on current project needs, and qualified contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
  • This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside your primary employment.
Compensation
  • Pay rate, Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility and Work Authorization
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, subject to your school s rules. Work with your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, the program may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported.
  • Placement on projects depends on project needs and contributor availability; meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee assignment to any specific project.
