Role Overview
Reconstruct complete chess games and correct commentary transcripts to help build a high quality dataset for AI research. This role combines close listening, algebraic notation fluency, and precise board work to turn spoken game commentary into validated game records.
Key Responsibilities- Transcript Correction, watch a video of a strong player narrating a game, and fix speech to text errors in the commentary transcript, including piece names, squares, and move notation. The transcription interface is synchronized to the video so you can click a word to jump to that moment.
- Game Reconstruction, using only the corrected transcript and no video or external searching for the source game, rebuild the full game on an analysis board (lichess or chess.com) and paste the resulting PGN.
- Uniqueness Assessment, determine whether the corrected transcript uniquely specifies the complete game. If it does not, itemize the minimal missing information required to make the game unique.
- Rated 1800+ ELO, FIDE or online equivalent.
- Fluent reader of algebraic chess notation and comfortable using an online analysis board.
- Strong ear for spoken chess commentary and careful attention to detail for correcting transcripts and reconstructing games.

- Applicants must meet the 1800+ ELO requirement, either FIDE or an online equivalent.
