About this role

Role Overview

CAD Drafters apply CAD and 3D modeling expertise to support AI research projects that improve models'' understanding of real-world drafting and technical design tasks. In this role you will use your domain knowledge to create, review, and evaluate outputs that help refine how AI handles professional CAD workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply professional CAD and drafting experience to tasks that train and evaluate AI on real-world drafting problems.
  • Develop domain-specific prompts and test cases for large language models and other AI systems.
  • Evaluate LLM responses and AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, completeness, and adherence to drafting standards.
  • Provide expert feedback, annotations, and corrections to improve model behavior in CAD and design contexts.
  • Learn and adapt to new evaluation tasks across related disciplines as projects require.
Qualifications
  • At least 1+ years of full-time work experience using one or more of the following tools:
    • AutoCAD Mechanical
    • AutoDesk Inventor Pro
    • Rhino 3D
    • LibreCAD
    • SolveSpace
    • Other related technical CAD tools
  • Ability to work asynchronously with AI research teams, managing tasks and communication across remote workflows.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, work from wherever you are.
  • Employment type: Part time.
  • Schedule: Asynchronous and flexible hours, there is no minimum hourly commitment.
  • Project placement is dependent on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different specialties.
Compensation

Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may qualify for projects, subject to their school’s rules. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
