Biostatistician

Role Overview

Apply biostatistics expertise to create rigorous evaluation material that helps train and assess next-generation AI systems. This remote contract opportunity focuses on realistic clinical, regulatory, and observational research scenarios. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and write expert-level evaluation tasks based on real-world biostatistics challenges, including clinical trial analyses, regulatory submission reviews, and observational study assessments.
• Source, construct, and curate authentic task datasets, including trial data, patient records, and protocol documents.
• Define methodologically sound solutions and defensible clinical interpretations for each scenario.
• Create comprehensive rubrics with 35 or more items to assess AI performance in methodological rigor and clinical reasoning.
• Ensure tasks reflect the depth and complexity of professional biostatistics practice rather than simplified textbook examples.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to align deliverables with scientific and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or epidemiology.
• At least 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical, contract research, hospital, or academic medical settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical study design, regulatory documentation, and observational research methods.
• Advanced proficiency with R, Python, SAS, or Stata using clinical or epidemiological datasets.
• Strong methodological rigor, clinical interpretation skills, regulatory sensitivity, and biostatistics expertise.
• Experience preparing submission-ready materials for regulatory agencies such as the FDA or EMA is preferred.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce detailed technical documentation and grading rubrics.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.
• Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications. Time required may vary by experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a required minimum number of task submissions each week.
• Roles are typically filled within 48 hours. Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required onboarding steps.

Compensation

$60 to $100 per hour.
