Energy Billing Analyst for AI Training

Billing Analysts apply hands-on utility billing and customer operations expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and produce expert training data that improves AI understanding of utility metering, customer workflows, and billing systems. This is an ongoing, project-based hourly contract role you can perform remotely alongside other commitments.

• Assess accuracy and relevance of AI-generated responses using your practical knowledge of utility metering, customer operations, and energy billing systems
• Create expert-level training examples and annotations grounded in real-world workflows and customer data practices
• Provide clear written feedback on errors, edge cases, and correct procedures to help improve model behavior

• At least 2 years of professional experience in utility metering, customer operations, or related energy functions
• Relevant roles include Meter Data Analyst, Customer Ops Analyst, Billing Analyst, Energy Accountant, or equivalent positions in the energy industry
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Oracle MDM, Oracle CC&B, SAP, Power BI
• Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams
• No prior AI experience required

• Fully remote with a flexible, asynchronous schedule
• No minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5, 20 hours per week when participating in an active project
• Engagement is hourly contract work, not a traditional salaried position
• Placement depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for future projects as they become available

Paid hourly, up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
