Role Overview
Help scale customer data ingestion and workflow operations while building hands-on engineering experience alongside Forward Deployed Engineers. This remote, full-time role combines data preparation, technical troubleshooting, scripting, automation, and customer communication, with increasing technical ownership over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers from initial data preparation through transfer and validation.
- Build and improve scripts, integrations, and automations that make data ingestion faster and more reliable.
- Investigate issues involving APIs, data formats, and transfer workflows, with support from core engineers.
- Monitor active workflows, identify gaps, and confirm customer data is complete and accurate.
- Communicate progress and resolve blockers with customers and internal teams.
- Convert recurring issues into improved tooling, documentation, and reusable workflows.
- Take on progressively more complex technical responsibilities as experience grows.
Qualifications
- Foundational programming ability, including writing and debugging basic Python scripts or scripts in a similar language.
- Familiarity with APIs, command line tools, and Git.
- A methodical troubleshooting approach and willingness to seek support when needed.
- Strong ownership, reliability, attention to detail, and clear written communication.
- Ability to follow runbooks, identify their limitations, and recommend improvements.
- Sound judgment when working with sensitive data and production systems.
- Curiosity, initiative, and interest in taking on greater engineering responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL, data pipelines, large datasets, cloud storage, or data transfer workflows.
- Experience in Linux environments and with JSON, CSV, or Parquet formats.
- Experience using AI coding tools for building and debugging, with careful review of generated output.
- Experience in a startup or customer-facing technical role.
Work Terms
- Remote, full-time hourly engagement.
- Expected weekly hours will be agreed upon in advance.
Compensation
- $40 to $60 per hour.
