As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying advanced AI systems that support critical U.S. Government missions. This position involves working in high-assurance environments, collaborating with strategic partners to ensure mission success through innovative technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Build and deploy agentic AI systems from prototype to production that support high-impact U.S. Government missions.
- Design and integrate LLM applications, including multi-agent systems, tool-using agents, RAG workflows, and human-in-the-loop autonomy.
- Collaborate directly with government partners in forward-deployed environments to translate mission needs into effective technical systems.
- Develop and maintain large-scale data curation and evaluation pipelines for model training and improvement.
- Create infrastructure for model inference, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment across frontier AI platforms.
- Ensure operational autonomy by building AI systems that leverage mission data, models, and tools.
- Manage systems throughout their lifecycle, including discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, reliability, security, and iteration.
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, partner-facing settings with technical and operational ownership.
- Strong proficiency in Python with end-to-end ownership experience.
- Experience with LLMs and the development of agentic systems.
- Proven experience in building or maintaining data pipelines and ML infrastructure.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning workflows or simulation environments.
- Comfortable working in high-security and high-reliability environments.
- Active U.S. security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Experience supporting U.S. Government, defense, intelligence, or national security missions.
- Prior experience at a startup, defense organization, Department of War, or government-focused technology company.
- Background in fast-moving startup environments, mission-critical government settings, or both.
Full-time position with a hybrid work model based in Washington, D.C.
CompensationThe compensation for this role ranges from $350, 000 to $500, 000 annually, with eligibility for equity compensation and performance-based bonuses.
