About this role

Role Overview

Create and validate rigorous academic assessment content that helps benchmark AI capabilities across economics and finance. This fully remote, asynchronous opportunity focuses on challenging multiple-choice questions and detailed solution quality in domains including algorithmic trading and market microstructure, macroprudential policy, behavioral finance and experimental economics, urban economics, and tokenomics and decentralized finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in either question authoring or question verification.
  • For authoring, develop original, challenging multiple-choice questions in your specialty, assign a difficulty rating, and submit them for review.
  • For verification, assess pre-written questions for accuracy, clarity, rigor, completeness, precision, and solvability; make edits where needed and document and justify changes.
  • Design questions that assess deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall.
  • Ensure every question is unambiguous, self-contained, and includes all information needed to solve it.
  • Classify difficulty as Medium, introductory undergraduate; Hard, advanced undergraduate; or Expert, postgraduate and above.
  • Provide one correct answer and nine plausible, subtly incorrect alternatives designed to challenge expert-level solvers.
  • Write clear, concise, step-by-step reasoning solutions in Markdown, including intermediate steps.
  • Include one to five academic references per question from reputable sources, such as peer-reviewed journals and university repositories.

Qualifications

  • PhD or doctoral candidacy in economics, finance, or a closely related field.
  • A master''s degree may be considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific subdomain.
  • Strong command of graduate-level economic theory, quantitative methods, and financial modeling.
  • Academic research experience, CFA or CPA certification, or financial-industry expertise is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent written English and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Work Terms

  • Fully remote, asynchronous hourly engagement.
  • Expected commitment of at least 10 hours per week.

Compensation

  • Hourly pay of $77 to $98.
