Senior Finance Professional for AI Training and Evaluation

Apply senior finance expertise to improve how advanced AI systems reason through real-world financial work. You will work closely with an AI research team to define high-quality finance tasks, establish rigorous standards for correct answers, and evaluate model performance.
Key Responsibilities- Review finance knowledge-work tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, and responses that would not meet professional standards.
- Write detailed instruction specifications and golden solutions for financial problems.
- Create finance tasks, challenging benchmarks, and evaluation sets grounded in real professional practice.
- Help develop finance-specific skills and tools with the research team.
- Collaborate with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists to calibrate consistent standards and translate professional financial judgment into clear evaluation criteria.
- At least 5 years of dedicated, substantive finance experience at a recognized institution, such as an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator. Roles with only peripheral finance exposure do not qualify.
- Specialization in at least one core finance area, including corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit.
- Progression to a senior individual-contributor or leadership level, such as Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO, with ownership of analysis and decisions.
- Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field, and/or a recognized credential such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation, strongly preferred.
- Practical experience using large language models in professional work and the ability to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect answers.
- Excellent written communication and the ability to provide precise, well-structured feedback.
- Full-time W-2 employment, with placement on an AI lab''s extended workforce.
- Initial commitment of 6 months at 40 hours per week.
- Hybrid position based in the Bay Area, California. You must live in the Bay Area and be available to work on-site with the client team multiple days per week when required.
- This is not a remote role. Candidates who are not currently based in the Bay Area must relocate at their own expense before the engagement begins; relocation assistance is not available.
- Client-issued accounts and equipment will be provided, and work will be performed in the client''s tools alongside its research team.
Hourly compensation of 60 to 100 per hour.
