About this role

Role Overview

Recreational Therapists apply their activity-based therapy expertise to evaluate and improve AI model outputs for therapeutic practice. You will assess model-generated content, craft prompts that reflect real-world clinical scenarios, and provide clear, structured feedback that helps models better understand recreational therapy tasks, language, and decision-making. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate responses produced by AI models that relate to recreational therapy practice.
  • Create and refine prompts that represent typical clinical activities and patient needs in your field.
  • Provide detailed, structured feedback that explains correct clinical reasoning, appropriate interventions, and suitable language for therapeutic contexts.
  • Document evaluation decisions and examples to support model training and quality improvement.
  • Work asynchronously with research teams, following provided guidelines and timelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in recreational therapy or closely related clinical roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing therapeutic activities, such as sports, music, and art, tailored to patients'' physical and psychological needs to support rehabilitation and community integration.
  • Experience monitoring and documenting patient progress, adjusting treatment plans, and collaborating with medical teams to optimize therapy outcomes.
  • Reliable written communication skills for producing clear, actionable feedback.
  • Ability to participate in asynchronous work with external research teams.
  • No prior AI or machine learning experience required.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: Part-time, hourly, temporary assignments within an ongoing, project-based program.
  • Location: Remote, asynchronous work from your own location.
  • Schedule: Flexible, no minimum weekly commitment, most contributors average 5 to 20 hours per week.
  • This role can be performed alongside your primary employment.
Compensation
  • Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility and Work Authorization
  • F-1 students may be eligible if they have valid CPT or OPT authorization. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility before applying.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported.
  • Identity verification will be required as part of onboarding.
Project Availability

The program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different areas of expertise. Placement into a specific project depends on current project availability, so applying now may result in being matched to a later project if immediate placements are not available.
