Role Overview

Apply deep aerodynamics and thermofluids expertise to analyze complex problems, create high-quality technical content, and help train next-generation AI systems by converting real-world engineering knowledge into precise, actionable training material. This contractor role is remote and focuses on producing, reviewing, and distilling aerodynamic and CFD-related deliverables that improve model reasoning and performance. No prior AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret complex aerodynamic challenges, producing detailed technical feedback and nuanced explanations relevant to aerospace and mechanical engineering contexts.
  • Develop, review, and distill advanced technical documentation related to aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermofluids, ensuring clarity and precision for varied audiences.
  • Refine educational and technical materials to enhance the learning and reasoning capabilities of AI models.
  • Participate in rigorous peer review processes, providing critical analysis, constructive feedback, and quality assurance on technical content and workflows.
  • Collaborate remotely with other subject matter experts to align on technical standards, workflow optimization, and best practices in knowledge distillation.
  • Translate experimental and theoretical results into actionable knowledge and training data through discussions and presentations.
Qualifications
  • Required skills: aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), technical writing, verbal communication, peer review, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, thermofluids, experimental methods, technical documentation, knowledge distillation, collaboration, remote teamwork, workflow optimization, and critical analysis.
  • Preferred education and experience: PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering with a specialization in thermofluids or aerodynamics, or a BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering plus at least 8 years in aero-specific roles.
  • Proven track record of technical writing for reports, articles, or documentation and experience translating complex concepts for interdisciplinary audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in peer review, technical evaluation, or consultancy roles involving critical analysis and workflow optimization.
  • Interest in applying engineering domain knowledge to the development and training of advanced AI systems.
